This smaller "ladies" chair has been covered in rich, textured antique German grain sacks- the owners initials can still be faintly seen on the back of the chair.  The hooked portion on the front of the chair is done by Sarah's own hand, using her hand dyed wools.  The ship is an adaptation of a primitive portrait of ships sailing into Boston harbor.
